Hi Steph,
Been meaning to message you & let you know how amazing my birth was.
Levi was born at home on 27th January at 06.55am.
After 15 hours of labour.
It was a slow & relaxing build up. And intense from about 4am when the Midwife arrived.
I started to get a little stressed at 6am because both my kids were home. (Knowing they might wake up).
My boy woke up at about 6am. So I had to get my mother to collect him. Imagine. I’m trying to look calm and serene for him while I’m contracting.
He got picked up at 6.45am!!!!!
My husband wasn’t with me whilst getting our son off with my Mum so that added to my stress. But luckily he came back quickly enough to see his next son being born 10mins later.
Then my last noisy grunt woke up our daughter. So she came downstairs to her new brothers arrival.
She was so cool about me delivering the placenta!
So apart from that little bit of stress, the rest was a relaxed and perfect build up to birth.
I would happily do it all over again!
We’ve said he is our last though so that is a whole other emotion I’m dealing with.
There was a false alarm
Funny thing.
We had a false alarm on the Saturday night prior. I phoned but they had no Midwives for home births!!
The contractions totally stopped an hour later…
4 days later it all started again & I was so over the moon, knowing I could have a home birth!
And of course, you’re welcome to use my story xx
